The story
Bar Misera is the Parisian bistro within chef Nicolas Misera’s Antwerp universe. While Restaurant Misera offers a Michelin-starred fine dining experience, Bar Misera turns down the formality without sacrificing quality. The result is a place where the food, wine, and atmosphere feel effortlessly right.
The à la carte menu changes daily, driven by the season, the chef’s inspiration, and whatever market produce is best that day. Seafood plays a leading role here—think oysters, shellfish, and fish prepared with the same precision you’d expect from a Michelin kitchen, but served in a relaxed, walk-in-friendly setting. The kitchen keeps a few tables open for spontaneous visits, and for drinks, no reservation is needed at all. Just pass by or call.
The wine list is worth noting—tagged as “Interesting Wine List” by wattafork—and the bar itself hums with a lively, unpretentious energy. Outdoor seating is available when the weather cooperates, and there’s a private room for those who want a bit more seclusion. The space is air-conditioned, comfortable, and deliberately unstuffy.
This approach has earned Bar Misera a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition that aligns with what critics have already observed. De Standaard wrote, “Life can be beautiful at the table of a place where everything is just right.” Knack Weekend added, “It’s rare for a place to touch the limits of perfection so quickly.”
For larger gatherings, Misera also opens his own home in the historic Vlaeykensgang for
