The story

Aster Brussels – Seasonal Seafood & Vegetarian Menu in Ostend | Michelin Recommended

A Final Season at Aster

Aster, the Brussels restaurant recognized by the Michelin guide, is entering its final chapter. Ydris and Túbo, the team behind this intimate dining spot, have announced that Aster will close its doors permanently on 25th April 2026. Until then, they continue to welcome guests for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday.

Summer by the Coast

For the summer months of June, July, and August, Aster moves to the coast. They invite guests to their summer pop-up in Ostend at ’t Kadaster, accessible through the garage door on Euphrosina Beernaertstraat. Here, they serve a single set menu built around sustainable, locally caught seafood and vegetables. The focus is on fish, shellfish, and produce from the local catch, with the kitchen able to adapt the menu for vegetarians. The menu is priced at 120 euros, with a beverage pairing option at 64 euros. Due to the very small team, any dietary requirements mentioned on the spot carry a 20 euro supplement.

What to Expect

Aster’s approach is direct and ingredient-led. The set menu changes with what the coast provides, making each visit a reflection of the season. The atmosphere is understated, the service personal, and the cooking precise. For those who appreciate a straightforward, well-executed meal built on sustainable seafood and vegetables, Aster offers a compelling reason to visit Ostend before it is gone.
