The story
Resto Cinq is the story of a son building on his father’s work. Chef Jean-Michel Verzele grew up in the family restaurant Le Florence in Anderlecht. Today he continues that heritage at a new location on the route de Lennik, with a fresh perspective and renewed energy. The approach is Modern French cuisine that feels both personal and contemporary.
“Refined dishes with attention to the seasons. Affordable, innovative, pure,” says Jean-Michel. The kitchen focuses on clear flavours and careful sourcing, presented without pretension. The atmosphere is informal yet polished – suitable for a weekday lunch or a leisurely dinner. Guests can choose from a changing à la carte or one of the curated menus: a lunch formula, the multi-course Menu CINQ, a dedicated lobster menu, and even a kids’ menu. Large groups are welcomed, and the restaurant adapts menus for allergies and vegetarians.
Seasonal produce drives the kitchen. Starters might include six Gillardeau oysters with shallot vinegar or grilled Saint-Jacques scallops with asparagus and beurre blanc. Mains range from sole fillets with green and white asparagus and wild rice to a rack of lamb with grilled vegetables and rosemary jus. The lunch menu (two or three courses) offers excellent value, while the Menu CINQ highlights dishes such as truffle croquettes with grilled aubergine and feta, and tiramisu with red fruit. The lobster menu is a full tasting affair at €79.50.
Cinq’s consistent quality and genuine hospitality earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026 – a fitting nod to a restaurant that balances tradition with a modern, accessible touch.
