The story
Just outside Brussels, in the village of Grimbergen, Lammekeshoeve occupies a former farmhouse that has been a local fixture for more than thirty years. The building once served as a gathering place where people met over a drink. In 2007, Ken Vleminckx took over from the family and transformed it into the stylish restaurant it is today. His passion for good food and a love for exceptional wines are at the heart of the experience.
In the kitchen, chef Niels leads a team that works exclusively with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The cooking is rooted in Belgian classics, with an emphasis on produce sourced from local artisans who respect tradition and quality. The kitchen also adapts to the seasons, offering suggestions that bring a sense of surprise. Everything is made in-house, and vegetarians are looked after with pure, appealing dishes.
The dining room is overseen by sommelier Christine, who ensures excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere. The wine list is a point of pride, with 250 references from renowned houses in France and Italy, ranging from exclusive bottles to more accessible options. The team is happy to recommend a pairing for your meal.
The menu changes regularly, but you might find starters like scallops from Dieppe with eel, dashi, radish, and yuzu, or a Wagyu beef carpaccio with rocket and Parmesan. Main courses include Mechelse cuckoo chicken with white asparagus and a morel jus, or a grilled turbot with dijonnaise and spinach. Desserts such as a pavlova with mango and passion fruit, or a cheese plate from Van Tricht, round things off.
Lammekeshoeve has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a fitting recognition for a restaurant that combines a warm, unpretentious setting with a serious commitment to Modern French cuisine. It is a place where the food and the welcome speak for themselves.
