The story
On the village square of Heffen, at the foot of the church, Meteor brings a quiet confidence to the dining room. The team describes their work simply: “Artisanaal restaurant, aan de voet van de kerk, op het dorpsplein van Heffen.” They work locally, following the rhythm of the seasons and their own appetite.
The menu, offered at €99 per person from Thursday to Saturday, changes with what’s available. A recent meal might begin with fresh herbs, spring roll, and kohlrabi, then move to an oyster with sucrine, lemon, and peas, followed by handmade cappelletti with tomato and basil. For the main course, choices include lamb “Hollaeken” or celeriac with oyster mushrooms, artichoke, and barigoule jus. The meal finishes with peach, fig, and mascarpone. A lunch menu is available on Fridays for €55, featuring a starter, main course, and coffee for €49.
The wine list reflects the same careful selection, with a focus on natural and artisanal producers from France, Italy, Austria, and beyond. The wine pairing, at €48 for four glasses, is designed to complement the meal without fanfare.
Meteor earned a place in the Michelin guide for 2026, a recognition that aligns with the restaurant’s commitment to honest, ingredient-driven cooking. The dining room, with outdoor seating and space for private parties, is open for lunch on Fridays and dinner from Thursday to Saturday.
