The story
Within the grounds of the Domaine d’Arondeau, a 19th-century château surrounded by water and lush vegetation, Vicomté offers a refined dining experience that earned its first Michelin star in 2026. The restaurant’s name pays homage to the estate’s history—the land was elevated to a viscountcy in 1675—and its setting is equally storied. Guests dine beneath a superb veranda overlooking an ornamental pond, where the contemporary yet warm décor creates an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.
At the helm is Chef Quentin Gallopyn, described by the restaurant as a rising star of his generation who honed his skills in some of Belgium’s finest kitchens. The year he earned his first Michelin star, he was also named “Meilleur Jeune Chef de l’année” (Best Young Chef of the Year) by the guide. His cooking is defined as gourmet, generous, and seasonal, placing high-quality, local produce at the center of each dish. The cuisine is unmistakably Modern French—precise, ingredient-driven, and presented without unnecessary fuss.
Vicomté is more than a dinner reservation; it is part of a larger estate that includes a three-star hotel with ten spacious, comfortable rooms. The restaurant offers “Escales Gourmandes,” packages that combine an overnight stay with a gastronomic dinner and breakfast, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the peaceful, timeless surroundings. The dining room is open Wednesday through Saturday evenings, Thursday and Friday for lunch, and Sunday midday, making it a destination for both special occasions and quiet, convivial evenings.
