The story
Aulis London delivers a tightly controlled modern British cuisine from a hidden kitchen on St Anne’s Court. Executive chef Oli Marlow and head chef Charlie Tayler run the operation, drawing ingredients predominantly from Simon Rogan’s Lake District farm called Our Farm. Guests watch their meals prepared at an intimate counter where each course arrives accompanied by a clear explanation of its preparation. This transparent approach grounds the entire regional British cooking in practical technique rather than abstraction.
The room itself underwent a spring 2023 refresh to prioritize conversation over formal distance. A dedicated lounge now hosts pre-dinner drinks while the main floor accommodates exactly twelve diners across multiple service periods. Tuesday through Saturday dinners flow alongside Friday and Saturday lunch bookings, allowing the staff to maintain a measured pace throughout each sitting. Hosts can secure the entire space for exclusive gatherings without additional fees, though minimum spending thresholds still apply.
The restaurant’s sustained commitment to regional produce earned a third radish from the We’re Smart Green Guide this year, complementing its inaugural Michelin Star recognition in 2024. The fixed tasting program runs at £195 before tax, leaving room for carefully curated wine selections like the recent Oxney Organic Estate showcase. Guests who require specific dietary adjustments must provide fourteen days advance notice so the team can adapt the seasonal British cuisine plates accordingly.
