The story
On the ground floor of the 19th-century Château de Locguénolé, La Maison Alyette is the welcoming bistro of the Domaine, named in tribute to Alyette de la Sablière, the former owner who dedicated her life to the estate. The restaurant offers an accessible, relaxed setting that contrasts with the formal dining of its Michelin-recommended sibling, L’Inattendu. The panoramic terrace overlooks the clearing and the Blavet estuary, giving diners a view that shifts with the tides.
The menu is the work of Chef Yann Maget, who earned the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2022. Trained in Paris and San Francisco, and with a background that includes a stint at the Bristol, Maget brings a refined yet unpretentious approach to the table. At La Maison Alyette, he focuses on classic French dishes built from local, seasonal ingredients sourced from small producers who respect their ecosystem. The cuisine is described as traditional, generous, and full of flavour, with an emphasis on the coastal bounty of Brittany.
A lunch menu is available from Monday to Friday, and the full carte ranges from €55 to €85. The bistro serves both lunch and dinner daily, and for guests of the Domaine, room service is also available around the clock. The bar, L’Apparat, offers a selection of fine spirits, bold cocktails, and Indian teas in an intimate lounge setting.
La Maison Alyette is part of the Domaine de Locguénolé, a Relais & Châteaux property set within twenty-five hectares of wooded parkland near Lorient. The estate recently completed a three-year renovation that honours its heritage while drawing inspiration from the maritime history of the Route des Indes. The restaurant is a genuine expression of Breton hospitality—unfussy, rooted in the land and sea, and guided by the skill of a MOF chef.
