The story
In the small town of Granges-les-Beaumont, near Romans-sur-Isère, the Bertrand family has been cooking for three generations. At Les Cèdres, that legacy is alive in the hands of two brothers: Jacques in the kitchen and Jean-Paul in the dining room. Opened in 1988, the restaurant earned a Michelin star for its precise, ingredient-driven classic cuisine.
Jacques Bertrand, the chef, works with a brigade that prizes controlled cooking and balanced seasoning. His brother Jean-Paul, the maître de maison, oversees the service with the discretion and attentiveness that define the house. Together, they have built a place where the focus is on making guests feel at ease. The restaurant's success, they say, rests on genuine teamwork and a shared passion for hospitality.
The dining rooms are designed as intimate cocoons, and a zen garden with water features adds a quiet, Japanese-inspired note. In good weather, meals can be taken on the terrace. The kitchen draws on the terroir of the Drôme—asparagus, truffles, strawberries, apricots—letting each season's bounty speak for itself. It is a cuisine of products, where quality and taste are the guiding principles, and the result is a refined expression of classic cuisine.
