The story
Set within the stone walls of the Domaine de la Klauss, a hotel and spa amid the seven hills of Montenach, Le K is the property’s gastronomic restaurant. The dining room, located at the heart of the hotel, balances contemporary design with the building’s original exposed timber and local stone, creating a setting that feels both timeless and fresh.
The kitchen is led by Chef Benoit Potdevin, who trained in several Michelin-starred houses in Lorraine, Paris, and the south of France. At Le K, he practices a modern, light, and refined style of cooking built on respect for fresh, seasonal produce. His approach is precise but not heavy: vegetables, fruits, herbs, and citrus are given prominence, while meat and fish are treated with a subtle hand. The result is a cuisine that feels both inventive and grounded.
In March 2024, Le K was awarded its first Michelin star, a recognition that has been renewed since. The restaurant is open for dinner from Monday to Saturday, offering menus that change with the seasons. For a more intimate experience, a private kitchen counter is available for two to four guests, where the Chef serves and explains a signature menu.
The dining room is overseen by Grégoire Prigent, whose team ensures service that is attentive without being stiff. The wine list, kept in the hotel’s vaulted cellar, is carefully curated and includes local bottles from the Moselle region as well as classic French and international selections.
Le K is one of several dining options within the Domaine, but it stands apart as the destination for those seeking the full expression of Chef Potdevin’s modern cuisine. It is a place where the cooking speaks for itself – refined, seasonal, and quietly confident.
