The story
At Werneckhof Sigi Schelling, the plate is the star. Chef Sigrid “Sigi” Schelling invites guests into her world of refined, seasonal cooking, where the focus is on natural flavor and impeccable technique. The restaurant, housed in a stately building on Werneckstraße in Munich’s heart, earned a Michelin star in 2026 for its high-quality cuisine.
Sigi Schelling’s approach is rooted in a deep respect for ingredients. She describes her kitchen as one that works “without compromise,” selecting produce handpicked from producers she has trusted for years, many of them regional gardeners and farmers. Her menus change regularly, celebrating what is in season. The cooking is unmistakably French in its precision and elegance, yet grounded in a local, honest sensibility.
Dining here means choosing from a carefully composed menu. At midday from Wednesday to Friday, guests can enjoy a three-course business lunch for 135 euros or a four-course option for 155 euros. Saturday lunch offers a four-course menu with wine pairing at 215 euros. The evening menu, a five-course affair, is 240 euros. Specials are created daily from the freshest market offerings, adding an element of surprise.
The atmosphere is warm and personal. Schelling speaks of “harmony on the plate and in the glass,” and her team brings that harmony to the table with “loving dedication, cheerful lightness, and a lot of feeling.” The restaurant also hosts private events for up to 55 guests, from intimate celebrations to corporate gatherings.
Werneckhof Sigi Schelling is open Wednesday through Saturday, with lunch service from 12 to 1:30 pm and dinner from 6:30 to 9 pm. Whether for a business lunch or a special evening, this is a place where the purity of French cuisine meets the personal touch of a chef who truly knows her craft.
