The story
In the San Giovanni district of Rome, Dogma brings a fresh, convivial approach to seafood. The restaurant is the project of Gabriele Di Lecce and Alessandra Serramondi, a young couple who met while working at the Michelin-starred Il Tino under chef Lele Usai. They opened Dogma in February 2022, and the restaurant has already earned a Michelin Recommended distinction.
The cooking here is built around the grill. Fish is the main ingredient, prepared over embers with precision. Gabriele’s technique comes from serious kitchens: after hotel school he worked with Lele Usai, then at Il Mosaico on Ischia, at Il Pagliaccio with Anthony Genovese in Rome, and at the three-star Alléno Paris in France. At Dogma, he applies that experience to a more relaxed, direct style of cooking.
The atmosphere is young and unpretentious. The dining room is air-conditioned, with outdoor seating in good weather, and the space is wheelchair accessible. The menu changes regularly, always centred on seafood. Vegetables come mostly from the family garden in Maccarese, on the Lazio coast. The bread is made in-house from Sicilian grain, milled in the restaurant’s own kitchen.
Dogma is a restaurant where the sea and the fire meet, without fuss. It is open for dinner Tuesday through Friday, and for both lunch and dinner on weekends.
