The story
NÜ Tulum takes its name from the French word nous – “us” – and the restaurant lives up to that meaning. Here, a collective of chefs brings their individual visions together, creating a menu born from shared passion and creative dialogue. This collaborative approach, rooted in the belief that great food emerges from conversation and exchange, has earned NÜ recognition as a Michelin Recommended restaurant, placing it among the notable dining destinations in the Riviera Maya.
The setting is deliberately intimate. Candlelight flickers through the dense Tulum jungle, with tables arranged under the stars. Subtle lounge music and the natural sounds of the surroundings create an atmosphere that feels both romantic and grounded. The restaurant’s garden hosts live music, art exhibitions, and cultural gatherings, making the space as much a community hub as a dining room.
The kitchen draws on the abundant ingredients of the Caribbean Sea and the Mayan Jungle, focusing on locally sourced, organic produce. A key partnership is with Mestiza de Indias, a regenerative farm in the Yucatán Peninsula that combines Ancient Mayan farming techniques with modern practices. From winged beans to honey pineapple and African cucumbers, the farm’s endemic species shape an ever-changing menu that celebrates the region’s biodiversity. The result is contemporary Mexican cooking that feels both inventive and deeply connected to its environment.
Beyond the food, NÜ’s bar program offers a selection of 30 mezcal varieties and handcrafted cocktails made with exotic ingredients. The restaurant also accommodates private events and weddings, with flexible spaces including a rooftop ceremony area, a reception dinner space for up to 150 guests, and a backyard garden for dancing. Whether for a quiet dinner or a celebration, NÜ Tulum delivers an experience that honors its jungle surroundings and the collective creativity behind every plate.
