The story
In a stately rijksmonument (national monument) on the Spoorsingel, Lalou brings together the best of a French brasserie and a wine bar. The dining room is a characterful space where hand-painted ceilings and refined wall panels set a tone of quiet elegance. But it is what lies behind the building that makes Lalou truly special: a hidden green city garden, a leafy terrace where you can enjoy long lunches, a glass of wine, or a relaxed dinner just minutes from Delft Centraal Station.
The kitchen is inspired by the French cuisine, focusing on high-quality products prepared with craftsmanship and attention. The menu offers an à la carte selection, as well as a 3- or 4-course option. For those who prefer to graze, there are also bites and wines by the glass. On Fridays and Saturdays between 13:00 and 17:00, Lalou serves a Bubble Flight: three different glasses of sparkling wine paired with small bites — a refined way to ease into the weekend.
The wine list is carefully composed, with a wide selection available by the glass or by the bottle, chosen to match the dishes or to be enjoyed on their own. Whether you come for a full dinner or simply a glass of wine with a snack, the spirit is one of pure enjoyment.
Lalou’s quality and atmosphere have not gone unnoticed. The restaurant earned a place in the Michelin guide as a Recommended address for 2026, a recognition that reflects the consistency and care that define the experience here. It is a place that balances sophistication with warmth, and a meal here feels both special and natural — the mark of a kitchen that trusts its ingredients and a team that knows how to welcome guests.
