The story
Robbert and Naomi Philipsen bring decades of experience to their own place. He cooks, she hosts, and together they run Eetkamer Lamens in central Ede. The restaurant earned a spot in the Michelin Guide, where inspectors praised the “recognisable dishes flanked by Mediterranean, South American and Asian temptations.” Gault&Millau also took notice, awarding a first chef’s cap for this young addition.
The kitchen works around a Josper charcoal oven, grilling free-range chicken and short ribs with precision. The menu leans on worldly flavours — think steak tartare with spicy mayonnaise, or chicken with a boemboe Bali sauce, lively sambal and a sweet-sour salad of peanut, carrot and apple. Diners can choose from a three- or four-course set menu or order à la carte. The style is Modern Cuisine that feels both familiar and surprising, with deep sauces and bright acidity throughout. A warm apple crumble with caramel and yoghurt ice cream finishes the meal.
The space is a roomy brasserie with a light industrial edge, softened by genuine hospitality. In good weather, the smoke-free terrace opens up. The Philipsens’ focus is simple: an evening of relaxed enjoyment at a fair price. Service runs through family, and the warmth is tangible — from the welcome to the final bite.
