The story
For over twenty years, Jurgen and Elise Bosmans have been synonymous with culinary indulgence and heartfelt hospitality. With the opening of Reblochon in Haaren, just outside Tilburg, they made their boldest dream come true. Chef Jurgen, the son of a chef, was classically trained but crafts dishes that are entirely of the moment. His cooking – labelled by the couple as pure, honest, and without fuss – is gastronomy “op zijn Brabants.” The Michelin inspectors took note, awarding the restaurant a Recommended status in 2026.
Jurgen’s guiding word is balance. He works only with the best meat, the freshest fish, and the finest vegetables and cheeses, sourced daily from the local region. The herbs come from his own garden. This attention translates into dishes where each element has a story. Elise, his partner in life and business, brings an equal passion to the front of house. Her expertise in wine and food pairings is formidable, and she curates a wine list that spans classic and new-world bottles, as well as tailored arrangements.
The menu changes with the seasons, offering a gastronomic discovery tour of four, five, or six courses. Options include a “Weekbreak” menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and the possibility of a cheese course – fitting, as the restaurant is named after chef Jurgen’s favourite cheese, Reblochon. This soft, washed-rind cheese from the Haute-Savoie has a history dating back to the 13th century, when farmers would leave a little milk in the cows’ udders to evade taxes, then use the richer second milking to make Reblochon. The same dedication to quality runs through every plate here.
Dining at Reblochon is an evening-long affair, set in a characterful, beautifully renovated building with a stunning garden terrace that offers the finest views of Haaren. The atmosphere is intimate, the service warm and attentive – a place where you’re unlikely to want to leave.
