The story

Farina Restaurant Kraków – Michelin-Recommended Seafood in the Historic Center

A Kraków Institution

For more than two decades, Farina has been a constant in Kraków’s evolving culinary landscape. Owner and chef Monika Turasiewicz describes it as a place that captures the essence of the city—cosmopolitan, yet steeped in a warm, homelike atmosphere. This philosophy is reflected in every aspect of the restaurant, from the welcoming service to the carefully composed menu. The restaurant’s dedication to quality has been recognized with a place in the Michelin Guide, a testament to its consistent excellence.

The Soul of the Kitchen

The name "Farina" (meaning flour) and the image of a fish form the restaurant's logo, perfectly encapsulating its two core passions. While the name nods to the foundations of good cooking, the menu is unapologetically centered on the sea. Turasiewicz’s vision is for simple, well-executed dishes that are fresh, light, and aromatic. She and her team source the finest ingredients, letting their natural flavors shine. The menu evolves with the seasons, featuring spring asparagus and winter truffles, always with a focus on what is best at that moment.

A World of Flavors

Seafood is the undeniable star at Farina. The menu presents a compelling journey through the Mediterranean and beyond. Starters might include a delicate tuna carpaccio with sesame and avocado or a bold vodka shot paired with a fresh oyster. Mains feature whole roasted fish like dorada and sea bass, alongside refined fillet dishes such as halibut with a cold shrimp sauce or turbot with porcini mushrooms and green asparagus. The raw bar is a highlight, offering oysters and a grand seafood platter. For those who prefer land, a beef fillet steak with green peppercorn and cognac sauce is a classic choice, as is the honey-glazed duck breast. The lunch menu, served Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, offers lighter options like a shrimp roll and fish & chips.

The Art of Pairing

The experience at Farina is elevated by a serious wine program, curated by owner Juliusz Turasiewicz, a certified sommelier. The wine list, a recipient of the Wine Spectator award, features a selection of international labels, some of which are exclusively available at the restaurant in Poland. To complement the food and wine, a dedicated cocktail menu offers celebratory libations, while the dessert menu provides a sweet finish with classics like tiramisu and crème brûlée.
