The story
Café Boulud brings a piece of Lyon to Riyadh, set within the Four Seasons Hotel at the Kingdom Centre. The restaurant draws its name from the original café started by Chef Daniel Boulud’s great-grandparents on their farm in France. Inside, the space balances vintage-inspired charm with modern sophistication – sunlit interiors, a conservatory bathed in soft natural light, and a relaxed lounge that feels both elegant and welcoming. The result is a setting that honours the timeless French tradition while feeling distinctly of the moment.
Chef Daniel Boulud, raised on a farm near Lyon and trained in two-Michelin-starred kitchens before becoming a leading figure in New York’s dining scene, oversees the concept. In Riyadh, the kitchen is led by Executive Chef Nicolas Lemoyne, also a Lyonnais. Chef Lemoyne honed his craft under Paul Bocuse and later worked at Michelin-starred Daniel in New York and Brasserie Boulud in Dubai. He now brings that depth of experience to Saudi Arabia, crafting seasonal menus that blend classic French techniques with the best local ingredients. His team includes young Saudi chefs eager to master French cuisine, adding a local dimension to the kitchen’s work.
The menu at Café Boulud changes with the seasons, offering both timeless French classics and modern creations. A standout is the Cheese Library, a curated collection of more than 60 varieties of soft, hard, blue and aged cheeses from across Europe, served with thoughtful pairings. On Fridays, the “World of Flavours” brunch presents Chef Boulud’s personal take on global cuisine, with live cooking stations and a dedicated dessert room. This commitment to craft and hospitality has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommended distinction, placing it among the finest French dining experiences in Riyadh.
