The story
Bella Napoli Kod Garića has served traditional Italian cuisine in Belgrade since 1999, when founder Miša Garić established the kitchen to share his appreciation for regional recipes. He relocated the operation to Zmaj Jovina Street in 2002, placing it firmly in the Zemun district. The culinary program now balances heritage techniques with modern pairings, earning an 11.5 rating from Gault&Millau for its inventive approach.
Guests consistently order the house tagliatelle tossed with prosciutto, which arrives inside a hollowed Parmesan wheel that melts into the pasta. The menu highlights fresh seafood like grilled octopus alongside porchetta on creamy polenta. A carbonara finished beside the table rounds out the savory courses before guests transition to vanilla-filled crepes or layered millefoglie.
The interior and courtyard garden use wooden accents and relaxed layouts to recreate the atmosphere of southern Italy. Visitors typically select the sunlit outdoor space during warmer months while the main hall provides shelter in winter. The wine cellar supports the menu by stocking bottles from Italian and Serbian producers alike. Service moves at a measured pace that encourages unhurried conversation.
