The story
In May 2025, Old Cellar Bled opened a new chapter. After six years in the historic heart of Bled, the restaurant moved to the lake’s edge, trading the old town’s narrow streets for a panoramic view of Lake Bled, its island, and the medieval castle above. The spirit remains the same: boutique hospitality, a personal touch, and deep respect for Slovenian ingredients.
The story began in 2009 as a small wine cellar. Over time, it grew into one of Bled’s most beloved restaurants, known for its passion for local produce, creative recipes, and heartfelt service. Today, that legacy continues on the lakeshore, where every table looks out over the water.
The kitchen focuses on clear flavours and seasonal ingredients. Dishes are a tribute to Slovenian tradition, refined with a modern approach and precision. The menu changes with the seasons, using local produce in limited quantities to ensure peak freshness. Each plate is designed to pair with the wine and the view, creating a meal where taste and setting become one.
Wine is central to the restaurant’s philosophy. The cellar is built on boutique Slovenian winemakers, alongside classic European labels and carefully selected international bottles. The team is happy to guide you through the list, matching each wine to your dish and the moment.
The Michelin Recommended recognition reflects the consistency and quality of the experience. It is a natural fit for a restaurant that has always put ingredient integrity and genuine hospitality first.
Old Cellar Bled is open daily from 12:00 to 22:00. With limited seats, reservations are advised, especially on sunny weekends and holidays. The restaurant is located directly on the lakeside promenade at Cesta Svobode 12.
