The story
At Restaurant Terra in Berga, the kitchen team works with a clear commitment to seasonal, local produce. The guiding principle is simple: the menus offered today will be different from those served in a few days, responding to what the land and local producers provide. This dedication to product-driven, Catalan cuisine has earned the restaurant a Michelin Recommendation.
The dining experience is built around two evolving tasting menus: L’Hort and Terra. Both change according to the chef’s daily finds and the season. A meal on the Terra menu might begin with aperitifs such as marinated red shrimp in its own juice with lime caviar and tomato air, followed by dishes like a creamy rice with squid, white shrimp, and sea urchin; a roast meat cannelloni with morel cream and foie gras; Galician monkfish à la meunière; and duck magret with apple, truffle, mushroom, and its own jus. Sweeter endings bring textures of mango, coconut, and passion fruit, or yogurt and fresh cheese with bee pollen and mountain honey. A shorter L’Hort menu is also available. For weekday lunches, the Tradició menu offers a more traditional, three-course format.
Terra’s cuisine is grounded in the Berguedà landscape, sourcing from nearby producers whenever possible. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, accommodating private parties, and offering gluten-free and vegetarian options. It is a straightforward, ingredient-focused restaurant in Berga that lets the season dictate what arrives at the table.
