The story
Le Bistró, part of the El Retiro family in Llanes, Asturias, offers a more relaxed but equally compelling dining experience. Under the direction of chef Ricardo González Sotres, the kitchen produces innovative dishes rooted in Asturian cuisine, balancing creativity with respect for local ingredients. The restaurant has been recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, a testament to its quality and value.
The signature offering is the Menú San Patricio, a homage to the restaurant's chapel and oak tree dating from 1922. This seasonal menu changes with the market, featuring dishes that highlight the region's bounty. Expect a progression from a welcome consommé through refined plates such as trucha de Bedón (trout from the Bedón river) with dill, bacalao with crispy skin, orange and kalamata olives, and an oyster with saffron-scented pularda escabeche. The menu also includes a nod to Asturian comfort food with an essence of pote asturiano (traditional stew) accompanied by smoked eel and foie gras. A wine pairing option is available, selected by the house.
Located on the Carretera Pancar in Llanes, Le Bistró provides a welcoming atmosphere for lunch and dinner. The restaurant features air conditioning, outdoor seating, and private party facilities, making it suitable for both intimate meals and celebrations. The space reflects the same attention to detail found in the kitchen.
Le Bistró's Bib Gourmand award places it among the best value restaurants in Spain, offering a taste of Asturian cuisine that is both inventive and deeply connected to its surroundings.
