The story
At Blossom, the dining experience begins with a setting as meaningful as the food itself. Tucked inside the Museo de Málaga — the city’s grand Palacio de la Aduana — the restaurant is the domain of chef Emi Schobert, who describes her work as “art in every bite.” Her approach is rooted in contemporary cuisine, where each plate is a study in balance: technical precision, visual composition, and conceptual depth.
Blossom earned a Michelin star for this very clarity of vision. Schobert’s cooking is not about complexity for its own sake; it is about “proposing a game of sensations that produce complex and deep notes to take gastronomic pleasure to another level.” She speaks of her cuisine as a whole, where every dish transmits the same equilibrium that defines the entire meal.
Guests choose between two paths. The Menú Esencia is a shorter, intense expression of Blossom’s identity — a concentrated version that moves through a sea jábega, a venison tartare in a tartlet, a silver snapper crudo with yellow ají leche de tigre, and a scallop with foie gras, fennel, and almonds. A smoked catch of the day arrives with citrus fumet, followed by a seasonal game course, then corn with mango and petit fours. The menu is priced at €140 per person, with a wine pairing at €75.
The Menú Confluencia (not detailed on the site) offers a longer, more exploratory journey. Both menus change with the seasons and the market, and the kitchen accommodates dietary requirements and vegetarian preferences — simply note them at booking.
Blossom did not always occupy this landmark space. The restaurant’s move to the Museo de Málaga marked a rebirth — a “new beginning,” as Schobert puts it, after a period of upheaval. The location itself, within the neoclassical palace on Plaza de la Aduana, lends the dining room a sense of permanence and cultural weight. It is a space where contemporary cooking feels at home among art and history.
The restaurant’s name — Blossom — speaks to that renewal. And in Schobert’s hands, the food lives up to the promise: technically assured, visually striking, and deeply personal. It is contemporary cuisine that does not shout for attention, but earns it, course by course.
