The story
At Lo Ponts in the small town of Ponts, the kitchen draws inspiration from traditional inland Catalan cooking, built entirely on local, seasonal ingredients. “Our cuisine is inspired by traditional interior cuisine, based on native local products,” the restaurant states, and their intention is to treat those products with the utmost respect. This philosophy is formalised through membership in the Slow Food association and a constant search for producers who share an ecological commitment.
That focus on honest, affordable cooking earned Lo Ponts a Michelin Bib Gourmand – a recognition that rewards good quality at a reasonable price, and a natural fit for a kitchen that values simplicity and local roots.
Among the dishes that define their approach are the caragols “lo Ponts” (snails), coques (Catalan flatbreads), and arrossos (rice dishes). They feature house-desalted bacallà (cod), alongside high-quality meats and vegetables sourced from nearby farms, many organic. Desserts follow the same principle: made on site from local products. A tasting menu (€64) and a traditional menu (€30) both showcase this vision.
The wine list is carefully curated by the in-house sommelier, offering selections from the local area as well as renowned Spanish denominations. Bottles can also be purchased from the on-site wine shop.
The restaurant is designed for comfort and space, with several indoor dining rooms, a reception and shop area, an outdoor terrace, a small children’s play zone, and a large private parking lot. Beyond the dining room, Lo Ponts offers takeaway under the “Lo Ponts a casa” banner and can arrange private celebrations and catering in their dedicated rooms.
