The story
Landgasthof Sonne sits in Ebersecken, a village in the Luzerner Hinterland. “Mitten im Grünen, weit ab von der Hektik der Städte,” the restaurant offers a calm escape. Here, Stefania Martinelli and Oliver Häfliger – the fourth generation to run the house – welcome guests to a setting that feels both traditional and relaxed.
The kitchen, led by Oliver Häfliger, focuses on Swiss cuisine that is “saisonal, frisch und kreativ.” The team uses local and seasonal products wherever possible, preparing each dish with care and attention to detail. The kitchen has been recognised by both Gault&Millau and Michelin – the 2026 Bib Gourmand acknowledges the consistent quality and good value of the cooking.
A highlight is the Menu Sûrprise: a six-course tasting menu built around seasonal ingredients. Priced at CHF 94 per person, it is available by pre-order for lunch and without advance notice for dinner. It is offered table-wide and not adaptable for vegetarian or vegan diets. The approach is simple: let the kitchen surprise you with what is best right now.
With several dining spaces – the Gaststube, the Stübli, a Saal, and a garden – guests can choose their atmosphere. The service team, led by Brigitt and colleagues, ensures a competent and welcoming experience. For those with something to celebrate, the restaurant also offers custom menu suggestions.
Landgasthof Sonne is a place where honest Swiss cooking, local sourcing, and family hospitality meet – and where a Michelin Bib Gourmand confirms you are in good hands.
