The story
On the quiet shores of Lake Geneva, in the preserved village of Nernier, La Table de Nernier is the project of two people with a single vision. Chef Rémi Javelle—a restaurateur’s son who says cooking has followed him all his life—works alongside Clara, the maître d’hôtel. Their shared belief is that genuine hospitality and honest food create an authentic restaurant. Clara describes a successful welcome as one where guests feel at home, ready to share a meal and good memories: “L’accueil, c’est l’âme d’un restaurant.”
The kitchen is built around the ingredient. The carte evolves with the seasons, letting the raw product set the tempo. The team describes their cooking as refined, epicurean and generous, with careful attention to balance—from texture to seasoning. Each plate is crafted with happiness rather than formula. A standout example visible on their menu includes mi-cuit bluefin tuna with glazed vegetables, venere rice, and a sesame-soy-coriander sauce.
This approach has earned the restaurant a Michelin Bib Gourmand, recognizing good quality, good value cooking within the modern cuisine category. It is a quiet, confident address that proves substance needs no fanfare.
Respect runs through everything: relationships with suppliers, the bond with the product, and exchanges with guests. Creativity defines the spirit of the kitchen, guided by the desire to please. The wine list of about one hundred references is chosen with care, sourced from small growers via the shortest route from vine to table. The restaurant offers outdoor seating and welcomes pets, making it a comfortable stop for those exploring the region’s lakefront.
