The story
Le Normandie, Thailand’s first French fine-dining restaurant, opened in 1958 as a grill atop one of Bangkok’s tallest buildings. In 1969 it became the city’s first true fine dining destination, and in 2015 it was thoughtfully revitalised. Now, under the direction of Anne-Sophie Pic – the world’s most Michelin-starred female chef – the restaurant has earned two Michelin stars, marking a bold new era.
Anne-Sophie Pic presents creative French cuisine that honours tradition while looking forward. Her culinary philosophy, Suffusion, extends from the dishes to the drinks. Signature creations like the Berlingots appear on the menu alongside reimagined plates such as “Lobster Dashi with Red Fruits,” which blends French technique with her deep affection for Asia.
The newly reimagined interior, designed by Humbert & Poyet, balances the restaurant’s rich legacy with a refined, immersive atmosphere. Le Normandie remains the only French restaurant in Thailand recognised by Les Grandes Tables du Monde. Guests are asked to dress elegantly; jackets are required for gentlemen at dinner.
The two Michelin stars affirm that this collaboration between a legendary Bangkok institution and one of France’s most celebrated chefs is a triumph. For those seeking French cuisine of the highest order, Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie delivers.
