The story
What started in 1986 as a family endeavor in Saroz has, over decades, become a restaurant in Bodrum that carries the scent of the sea directly to the plate. Every dish at Orfoz holds the salt of the Aegean, the warmth of its sun, and the early-morning effort of fishermen and farmers. The restaurant’s name itself references a local fish, and the ethos is clear: from sea to table, with nothing lost in between.
The menu at Orfoz is built around what the sea, the vineyard, and the garden provide each day. Respect for the ingredient is the guiding principle—mevsiminde (in season) and as local as possible define every plate. The cooking is simple, letting the essence of each catch speak. A tasting menu and a carefully curated wine list complement the experience, with pairings designed to highlight the purity of the food.
Neferiye, the restaurant’s own label, draws inspiration from Bodrum’s millennia-old tradition of viticulture. Local grape varieties tell the story of the land in every glass, and these wines are offered alongside the meal as a natural extension of the place. It is a rare thing to find a restaurant that not only sources locally but also creates its own expression of the region in bottle.
In 2026, Michelin awarded Orfoz its “Recommended” distinction—a quiet acknowledgment of the consistency, honesty, and depth of flavour that define this kitchen. For a restaurant that has never chased trends, that recognition feels earned and natural.
Orfoz serves dinner nightly, with both outdoor and air-conditioned indoor seating, making it a welcoming spot in Bodrum whether you come for a long evening or a single, perfect plate of the day’s catch.
