The story
At Lazy Betty, the guiding philosophy is simple: come together, eat well, and live unhurried. This Atlanta restaurant, awarded a Michelin star for high quality cooking, believes that dining is about more than food—it is about the entire experience. The team strives to create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy the moment.
Lazy Betty is the culmination of the Hsu family's love for food and community. Chef Ron Hsu inherited this passion from his mother, Betty, who welcomed friends and family to her restaurant as if it were her home. Chef Ron brings experience from kitchens around the world, including his time as Creative Director at Le Bernardin, the three-Michelin-starred New York City institution. At Lazy Betty, he curates an intimate experience in an open kitchen where diners can watch their meal being prepared. The modern and innovative menu draws inspiration from his professional training, global travels, and Atlanta's local community.
The restaurant offers thoughtfully crafted tasting menus, each presenting a distinct experience from the culinary team. The Lazy Betty Tasting Menu and Chef’s Tasting Menu are available in the dining room by reservation. For those seeking a more casual approach, a Bar & Lounge Tasting Menu of four rotating courses is offered without a reservation exclusively in the bar and lounge areas. A multi-course vegetarian menu is available upon request. Each menu is subject to change based on market availability, and all pricing includes service. The average dining experience lasts about three and a half hours, allowing guests to settle in and savor each course.
Lazy Betty’s recognition includes a Michelin star, as well as past James Beard Award semifinalist nods and accolades from Atlanta Magazine and Thrillist. The restaurant’s contemporary cuisine is guided by exquisite ingredients and a thoughtful approach, where every part contributes to the whole. Whether for an intimate dinner or a private event, Lazy Betty offers a space where food brings people together.
