The story
Apt 115 is a restaurant, wine bar, and wine shop tucked into the first floor of the 7East complex in Austin. Chef Joshua van den Berg leads the kitchen, crafting a New American tasting menu and a la carte dinner menu that shifts with the seasons. The space is intimate, with vinyl records playing throughout the evening, setting a relaxed yet refined tone. Walk-ins are always welcome.
The menu begins with wine bar snacks: baguette with fancy butter, cheese and charcuterie with cornichons, marcona almonds, gordal olives, escargot with ramp butter, or Scarlett crab and spinach en cocotte with Gruyère. For dinner, dishes include sweet potato pancake with crème fraîche and smoked trout roe (or platinum Osetra caviar), garden salad with rose vinaigrette, Hokkaido scallops with Yukon Gold and black garlic, duck confit with beluga lentils and grapefruit, and NY strip with romesco and sun gold tomatoes. Dessert is Thai coffee panna cotta with smoked meringue. An 8-course tasting menu is available for $120 per person, with optional daily wine pairing ($70) or fancy wine pairing ($140). The menu changes often, depending on what is available and in season.
The wine list is a collection of over 400 labels from six continents, almost all small production and low intervention. The list leans classic with thoughtful selections from major wine-growing regions. Twelve selections are offered by the glass and change daily. Guests can also purchase any bottle at retail price to go. The restaurant also runs a wine club for members.
In 2026, Apt 115 earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a nod to the precision of Chef van den Berg’s cooking, the depth of the wine program, and the welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place where a full dinner or just wine and snacks feels equally right.
