The story
At Rêve, fine dining is a narrative. The restaurant, led by chef-owner Jacob M. Stull, describes itself as a place where “every course is rooted in memory, shaped by imagination, and crafted with the precision of a kitchen that believes food should mean something.” The tasting menu is the heart of the experience—a guided progression of flavors designed to move and surprise.
In just seven months, Rêve earned a place in the Michelin Guide—a recognition that the restaurant calls “a milestone few restaurants ever touch.” Chef Stull, the youngest chef-owner in Birmingham to achieve this distinction, shaped the restaurant with urgency and belief in what was possible at home. The Michelin Recommended award reflects the precision and intention behind every plate.
Rêve offers two tasting menus: a six-course “Atelier” and a ten-course “Full Story.” The Full Story, priced at $165 per person, begins with canapés such as steak tartar with house brioche and gougère, then moves through a sequence of dishes like potato with brown butter and Kavari caviar, Coq au Vin from Sweet Magnolia Farms chickens, and Columbia River sturgeon with champagne grapes. Desserts include strawberry and rhubarb or dark chocolate with Washington sour cherries. Each course is a chapter in an evening that rewards surrender.
The restaurant asks guests to dress business casual to semi-formal, helping maintain the intimate, polished atmosphere. The space is designed for quiet connection—a room where the world slows and the meal becomes the focus. Rêve is a contemporary restaurant that proves fine dining in Birmingham can be as refined as any distant destination, without ever leaving home.
