The story
Pammy’s is a New American restaurant that draws its spirit from the feel of an Italian neighborhood trattoria. Perched between Cambridge’s Central and Harvard Squares, it is a cozy yet sophisticated destination. For husband-and-wife team Chris and Pam Willis, who live just up the street, Pammy’s is an extension of their own living room.
The couple brought together their love of great food, easy hospitality, and a chic vibe to create a lively space welcoming to all. The food is unpretentious and delicious, leaning heavily on Italian flavors without being bound by any rules of the cuisine. As the kitchen pulls from Italian culture and American innovation, the wine list similarly juxtaposes New and Old World wines from small vineyards.
Chris Willis’s life has been surrounded by food, from his early days on his family’s fourth-generation farm. He built his resume across fine establishments like Rialto, Clio, and Sfoglia, learning the fundamentals of cooking, discipline, and the importance of maximum flavor. At Pammy’s, he believes in the power of simplicity: showcasing just a few star ingredients in a dish and letting care and skill shine through. Hospitality is in Pam Willis’s blood, the daughter of a hotelier and a restaurateur. Together, their goal is to serve unfussy, great food and channel their natural knack for hospitality.
The space itself adds to the charm: a dual-opening fireplace wrapped in white ceramic, an oversized salvaged communal table designed for side-by-side dining, and rich leather banquets. The bar and lounge are a lively spot for the a la carte menu, with walk-ins always welcome.
The team at Pammy’s is deeply rooted in the craft. Bar Manager Rob Ficks brings deep knowledge and a playful style, curating cocktail menus that complement the kitchen’s flavors. Wine Director Katie Hubbard curates a thoughtful list of sustainable, natural wines from lesser-known regions, framing Chef Chris’s artistic Mediterranean-inspired menu. In the kitchen, James Dunne works closely with Chris to craft dishes that are craveable and unassumingly refined.
This dedication to warm hospitality and refined yet approachable food earned Pammy’s a Michelin Recommended distinction, placing it among the best dining experiences in the Boston area.
