The story
Wild Common brings a distinctive energy to Charleston’s Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. In 2026, the restaurant earned a Michelin star, a recognition that underscores its commitment to precise, inventive cooking within the American Contemporary tradition. The team behind it — the Easton Porter Group, also behind the acclaimed Restaurant at Zero George — knows how to build a restaurant that feels both polished and alive.
At the stoves is James Beard–nominated Executive Chef Orlando Pagán. His cooking draws from a broad international palette while staying rooted in the local pantry. The result is a tasting menu he calls “wildly uncommon” — a series of courses that highlight creativity, balance, and seasonality. Guests can opt for wine pairings that tend to open with Champagne, a promising start to the evening.
The dining room features curated Lowcountry art in partnership with the Charleston Artist Collective, giving the space a sense of place. For a more intimate experience, the private courtyard offers outdoor seating, while the Chef’s Counter lets you watch Pagán and his team work in real time. A semi-private room, The Overlook, is available for larger parties.
Dinner is a multi-course tasting menu served Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations open 30 days in advance. The format is chef-driven and seasonal, with no a la carte options — a classic fine-dining approach that lets the kitchen dictate the rhythm. Wild Common’s Michelin star reflects the precision and clarity of that vision: high-quality cooking that doesn’t sacrifice soul for technique.
