The story
Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen brings the unhurried, gentle spirit of Hà Nội to Dallas. The name means "delicious" in Vietnamese, and it also carries the name of Carol Nguyễn’s mother, Ngôn, whose love and care shape every dish. The restaurant is a tribute to the everyday meals Nguyễn grew up with—the kind of comfort that only her grandmother’s phở could provide, always meant to be shared.
The menu is rooted in the quiet, reflective cooking of northern Vietnam. Before anything else, there was Bà Ngoại’s phở—a broth that taught Nguyễn that food can soften the world. That same warmth appears in the Phở Hà Nội, where rice noodles swim in a savory beef broth simmered for twenty-four hours, with ribeye, brisket, and beef meatballs. The Bún Chả Hà Nội, a signature street-food vermicelli, features chargrilled pork patties and grilled pork served with fresh herbs and sweetened fish sauce. Starters like Nước Mắm Wings—crispy chicken wings caramelized in fish sauce and garlic—and the Imperial Rolls, filled with shrimp, crab, and pork, are made for passing around the table.
In 2026, Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a nod to its good quality and good value cooking. The restaurant’s Dallas location on Greenville Avenue is a welcoming space where the care of family recipes meets the rhythms of a modern Vietnamese kitchen. Every dish, from the Shaking Tenderloin to the vegetarian phở, reflects Nguyễn’s commitment to cooking from the heart—and to placing home a little closer to everyone who walks through the door.
