The story
In the heart of downtown Denver, at 1801 California Street, Guard and Grace redefines what a steakhouse can be. Created by Chef/Owner Troy Guard and named after his daughter, this award-winning restaurant proves that a modern steakhouse can be elegant and inviting without sacrificing warmth and hospitality.
The 9,000-square-foot space offers one of Denver’s largest patios, with a design that brings the outside in—light, airy, and welcoming. This vision has earned the restaurant a Michelin Guide-Recommended distinction, as well as a spot on the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants list (No. 47 in 2024).
Chef Guard’s menu is a testament to culinary craftsmanship. While the restaurant is a destination for prime, dry-aged, and local Wagyu cuts of beef, it also highlights Troy’s Hawaiian roots with a generous selection of seafood. Wood-fired creations take center stage, and Creekstone Farms® Angus beef is a proud partner. The experience is rounded out by innovative cocktails and an interesting wine list.
The kitchen regularly offers seasonal delights, exclusive omakase-style offerings, and daily rotating specials. Events like exclusive wine dinners and collaborations with celebrated chefs keep the dining experience dynamic. As the restaurant itself puts it, they don’t just serve meals—they host unique events that kick your dining experience up a notch.
Guard and Grace is a modern American steakhouse that delivers the unexpected, from its award-winning food to its inviting atmosphere.
