The story
BCN Taste & Tradition brings Barcelona to Houston. The name is a direct nod to the Catalan capital, and the kitchen draws on both the cutting-edge haute cuisine that has put Spain on the world culinary stage and the traditional recipes passed down through generations.
The restaurant opened in September 2014, born from a Spanish immigrant's longing for the smells, flavors, and textures of his childhood. After years of effort, that idea became reality when he met a chef from Barcelona. Today, the team is led by owner Ignacio Torras and chef Luis Roger.
The kitchen takes its produce seriously, following a highly selective process to bring the foremost quality items to the table. The team respects the ingredients they work with, applying collective techniques to each dish. The menu covers appetizers like Spanish octopus with potato purée and smoked paprika, Cinco Jotas Ibérico ham with toasted "pa amb tomaca," and a standout egg yolk carpaccio with confit potato and cured Ibérico ham. Seafood options include roasted fideo pasta "fideuá" with grilled lobster and clams, and a salt-cured Spanish cod with saffron mousseline. Meat dishes range from suckling Ibérico pig "a la Segoviana" to grilled duck breast with quince and Idiazábal cheese sauce. Desserts include a "Tarta De Santiago" almond cake with homemade lemon marmalade and a warm Manchego cheese lava cake.
This Spanish restaurant in Houston earned a Michelin 1 Star in 2025, a recognition of its high quality cooking. The dining room offers a setting that matches the food's ambition, with outdoor seating, a bar, and an interesting wine list that complements the menu's depth.
