The story
Chef Chaz Lindsay grew up in the Belhaven neighborhood, just down the road from where Pulito Osteria now stands. He started cooking at 15 at a local pizza shack, then trained at the Culinary Institute of America. His career took him to celebrated New York kitchens—Colicchio and Sons, Craft, and Eleven Madison Park—before he moved to Rome to deepen his understanding of Italian food. When he came home, he opened Pulito Osteria: Italian in spirit, season by instinct, and unmistakably Belhaven.
The menu at Pulito Osteria changes with the seasons, but the anchors remain: handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and thoughtful Italian-American dishes. Starters like pork and ricotta meatballs in tomato gravy or arancini give way to primi such as pappardelle with bolognese, linguine with lump crab and bottarga, or orecchiette with pancetta and n’duja ragu. Secondi include a roasted half chicken with fine herb salsa verde, pancetta-wrapped pork tenderloin, and an 8-ounce filet with port demi. Vegetables and sides—Delta Grind polenta, Calabrian chili collard greens, speckled butter beans—reflect the same care. The bar turns out a rotating list of cocktails, wine, and beer, and the kitchen stays open until the last guest is satisfied.
In 2025, Pulito Osteria earned a selection in the MICHELIN Guide, making it Jackson’s own Michelin-recognized restaurant. The award speaks to the precision and warmth that define every meal here. The dining room is relaxed—"Come as you are. We’re so glad you’re here."—with outdoor seating, a lively bar, and space for private parties. Pulito Osteria is open Tuesday through Saturday for dinner, from 4:30 pm until close, in the historic Belhaven Town Center.
