The story
In summer 2021, Girl & the Goat went west, bringing Chef Stephanie Izard’s signature bold, globally influenced cooking to the Arts District. The team was drawn to Los Angeles’ vibrant restaurant community and the region’s incredible bounty of produce and long growing seasons. While the restaurant shares the same adventurous spirit as its Chicago flagship, the Los Angeles kitchen crafts new dishes inspired by local California flavors and ingredients. The result is contemporary American food that feels both familiar and fresh—layered with spice, acidity, and unexpected combinations.
The restaurant’s recognition as a Michelin Recommended spot reflects the consistent quality and creativity on the plate. Izard and her team take full advantage of the California growing seasons, letting the produce guide the menu.
Every Sunday from 10am to 2pm, the restaurant shifts into brunch mode, offering shareable favorites and handcrafted cocktails. It’s a chance to experience the same bold cooking in a more relaxed, daytime setting. The space itself is air-conditioned, with outdoor seating available and a private room for larger gatherings. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible.
Whether you’re coming for dinner or Sunday brunch, the energy is warm and welcoming—a place where the cooking is the star, and the only journey is from the plate to your table.
