In the winter of 2022, Anna and Niki began work on their biggest project yet: a brick building at 5035 Melrose Ave. Nearly four years after first stepping inside the empty space, Little Fish Melrose Hill opened its doors. The result is a restaurant that feels like a meal in someone’s home, mixed with the polish of a fanciest aunt’s holiday table. Familiar, special, and distinctly theirs.

The restaurant serves lunch, apéro, and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. Wine flows all day. The menu changes regularly, but the ethos stays the same: simple, well-sourced American cooking that doesn’t fuss but delivers. A house-smoked, sustainably sourced fish dip—dairy free, good on toast or by the spoonful—is sold at local markets like DADA and McCall’s Meat & Fish Co.

A Bib Gourmand in Los Angeles

Little Fish’s thoughtful approach earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award that recognizes good quality, good value cooking. It’s a nod to the kind of place where the care in every dish is evident, from the lunch plates to the evening menu. The American cuisine here is grounded in sustainability and flavor, not trends.

Two Locations, One Spirit

The original outpost at 1606 W. Sunset Blvd remains open, while the Melrose Hill location (5035 Melrose Ave) has become the heart of the operation. Both share the same warm, unpretentious energy. Whether you stop in for a quick lunch or settle in for a long dinner, Little Fish makes you feel like you belong.
