The story
In Miami’s Coconut Grove, Chug’s Diner has become a local staple, serving Cuban-American food with a retro diner spirit. Part of the Ariete Hospitality Group—led by James Beard Award-nominated chef Michael Beltran—the restaurant has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand every year since 2022, a nod to its high-quality, value-driven cooking.
The menu is built on scratch-made dishes that blend classic diner comfort with Latin flavors. The Cast Iron Pancake arrives as a shareable, golden skillet pancake. The Cuban-American Sandwich reimagines the traditional Cubano with a fresh twist. Homemade Croquetas are crisp outside and creamy within, while the fresh Pastelitos come flaky and filled with guava, cheese, or picadillo. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, a place where bold flavors meet nostalgia.
Chug’s also operates Chug’s Express, a quick-service ventanita (walk-up window) in Miami WorldCenter, serving the same pastelitos, croquetas, and cafecitos for those on the go. Whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Chug’s Diner captures Miami’s culinary energy through honest, inventive cooking.
