Since 1979, Fogo de Chão has kept the flames of the churrasco tradition burning. The Minneapolis location, on Hennepin Avenue, brings this authentic Brazilian steakhouse experience to the heart of the city. The restaurant is a destination for those seeking the full churrasco experience: a continuous service of fire-roasted meats carved tableside by gaucho chefs.

The restaurant’s roots are in the mountainous landscapes of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The founding brothers grew up on a traditional farm in the Serra Gaucha, where they learned the churrasco grilling style. After formal training in Rio and São Paulo, they opened their first restaurant in Porto Alegre, building a reputation that drew politicians, businessmen, and celebrities. The Fogo concept eventually expanded to the United States, with a stateside debut in Dallas, Texas.

At the Minneapolis location, the experience centers on the “Culinary Art of Churrasco.” Guests can explore a menu of signature Brazilian cuts, including Picanha (prime part of the top sirloin), Fraldinha (bottom sirloin), and the indulgent Wagyu New York Strip. The meal also includes access to the seasonal Market Table, a curated selection of fresh vegetables, salads, and authentic sides. For a limited time, the Fogo Four Course offers a selection of fire-roasted cuts, the Market Table, sides, and a dessert.

The restaurant’s wine program has earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, reflecting a thoughtful selection of bottles that pair well with the robust flavors of churrasco. The Founders Tribute Wine Collection, for example, includes a Malbec from Mendoza that pairs with the Picanha and a Red Blend from Chile recommended for the Lamb Picanha or Costela.

The Minneapolis location is equipped for private events with banqueting rooms and offers services like catering, delivery, and takeaway.
