The story
Perched inside Lied Lodge at Arbor Day Farm, Timbers offers modern American cuisine that draws from the natural beauty of its surroundings. The soaring timber architecture and sweeping panoramic views set a relaxed yet refined tone. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a space that welcomes everything from a casual brunch to a memorable dinner in Nebraska City.
Timbers focuses on seasonal dishes and handcrafted cocktails. The menu evolves with the seasons, and the kitchen leans into fresh, local ingredients. A weekday brunch special features a double smash burger with tallow fries and a drink for $14, served Monday through Friday from 7am to 2pm. The dinner menu rotates, and a dedicated dessert menu, wine list, and cocktail and beer selection round out the options. The American cuisine here is grounded, unfussy, and built for the setting.
Timbers earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2024, a testament to a thoughtful wine program that pairs well with the seasonal fare. The wine bottle list and wines by the glass are designed to complement the menu, whether you’re stopping in for brunch or a full dinner.
The restaurant is part of the larger Arbor Day Farm experience. For a more relaxed evening, the Library Lounge offers crafted cocktails and local beers with small bites from Timbers. Porter’s serves barbecue with apple cider slushies just steps away. But Timbers remains the anchor—a place where modern American cooking meets the landscape that inspires it.
