The story
At Hyderabadi Zaiqa in Manhattan, the team takes pride in preserving and showcasing the authentic flavours of India. The restaurant, which earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, brings the vibrant cuisine of the subcontinent to 52nd Street. The menu draws inspiration from both royal kitchens and bustling Indian streets, offering a fusion of flavours that spans the country.
The kitchen is led by two chefs with distinct backgrounds. Chef Mohammad Tarique Khan, hailing from Rourkela, Odisha, is the driving force behind the menu, focusing on the intricacies of Hyderabadi cuisine. Working alongside him is Chef Jayesh Naik, a culinary virtuoso from Mumbai, Maharashtra, who brings a creative approach to traditional Indian cooking. Together, they blend time-honoured techniques with contemporary methods, using local ingredients.
The menu at this Indian restaurant covers a wide range, from Shorba (soup) and Chat to Tandoori dishes, Entrees, and Biryani. A notable section is Indo Chinese, featuring items like Street Chowmein and Special Spicy Chowmein, each made with a homemade sauce. The space itself is designed to be warm and inviting, with traditional elements and contemporary design, creating a setting for the dining experience.
