The story
Jupiter is the second restaurant from Clare de Boer, Annie Shi, and Jess Shadbolt, the team behind the acclaimed King in SoHo. Opened in fall 2022, it celebrates the generous simplicity of regional Italian food and drink. As the restaurant puts it, Jupiter “is a scene and a dining room you want to lean into, linger over, and — without question — indulge in.” The kitchen focuses on handmade pastas, seasonal vegetables, and grilled meats, all anchored by a carefully curated selection of New Italian wines.
True to its motto “Jupiter is Pasta and Wine,” the menu is built around a slate of handmade pastas—think rigatoni carbonara with guanciale, pappardelle with an eight-hour beef ragu, and gnocco alla Romana with sage butter and speck. Starters range from a classic fritto misto to a vibrant bruschetta with mashed peas and ricotta. Mains include a hanger steak with taleggio fonduta and a chicken Milanese, while sides like crispy rosemary potatoes and grilled asparagus round out the meal. The bar program takes inspiration from classically Italian flavors, with extra love given to aperitivo.
Jupiter occupies the rink level at Rockefeller Center, one of New York City’s most iconic sites. The buzzy, vibrant energy echoes Italy’s beloved piazza-style dining—from Rome to Florence and Milan. Whether you come for pre-theater pasta, post-theater cocktails, or after-work vino, the restaurant welcomes walk-ins and reservations alike. The team’s commitment to thoughtful Italian cooking and hospitality earned Jupiter a Michelin Recommended distinction, a fitting nod to a place that delivers both substance and spirit.
