The story
In the heart of Midtown Manhattan, Le Jardinier New York creates a serene escape. This Michelin-recommended restaurant is a collaborative project between global hospitality group The Bastion Collection and Michelin-starred Chef Alain Verzeroli, a longtime protégé of Joël Robuchon. The restaurant connects guests to nature through seasonal French menus.
Chef Verzeroli’s 18 years in Japan deeply influence Le Jardinier’s approach. The menus mirror the natural rhythm of the seasons, constantly evolving to feature the best available ingredients. The kitchen team, led by Executive Chef Bastian Schenk and Pastry Chef Salvatore Martone, applies refined French technique to wild and sustainable fish, meat, and poultry, complemented by local fruits, vegetables, and fresh herbs. The bay leaf serves as the restaurant’s emblem, symbolizing a dedication to seasonality and mindful sourcing.
The menu offers a choice of à la carte dishes, prix fixe lunches, and a multi-course Seasonal Expression tasting menu. Starters might include burrata with pickled tomatoes and basil sorbet, or roasted leeks with matcha vinaigrette. Mid-courses range from snow crab with avocado and calamansi vinaigrette to scallops stuffed with morels in a ginger mushroom broth. Entrées feature dishes like grilled salmon with kaffir lime and ginger, duck with orange blossom and mango emulsion, and a Wagyu bavette with cannelloni. Desserts, from a classic mille-feuille to a yuzu mousse, are crafted by Pastry Chef Martone.
The space was designed by award-winning architect Joseph Dirand. Within the same address at 610 Lexington Avenue, guests can also visit Bar Bastion for cocktails or Sereine, New York’s premier event space. This refined, contemporary French restaurant offers a calm, refined atmosphere for lunch and dinner in Midtown.
