The story
For over three decades, Bánh Mì Boy has been a fixture of Orlando’s Mills 50 neighborhood. It is a Vietnamese café and bakery that built its reputation on fresh bread baked daily and house-made everything, creating a welcoming space for friends and family.
The restaurant gained wider acclaim when it was featured on Netflix's Somebody Feed Phil. More recently, Bánh Mì Boy has been recognized with a 2026 MICHELIN Bib Gourmand award, marking its second consecutive year earning the designation for good quality, good value cooking. Led by Top Chef winner Hung Huynh, the kitchen blends bold, new flavors with the classics that have kept regulars returning for years.
The menu centers on Vietnamese cuisine, with bánh mì sandwiches as the anchor. Standouts include the signature Bánh Mì Boy (pork belly, char siu, ham, pickled veggies, and paté), the inventive Pho French Dip (beef brisket with a side of pho broth), and the Saigon Cheesesteak. Summer rolls come in a dozen variations, from shrimp to lemongrass chicken, and the drink list offers Vietnamese iced coffee, fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, and creative foam-topped iced coffees in flavors like ube and pandan.
