Sushi Sho Rexley is an intimate omakase-only restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg, helmed by Master Sushi Chef Rexley Kwok. It offers what the team describes as “the only place providing the Omakase experience” in the city — a focused, reservation-only tasting of true Edomae sushi.

Chef Kwok’s path began years ago under the tutelage of Master Sushi Chef Hiro Ida San. Since arriving in the area in 1999, he has dedicated himself to “pushing the boundaries in America about what it means to go out for sushi.” Sushi Sho Rexley is the latest expression of that passion: a small, counter-dining setting where the meal is a carefully paced adventure.

The menu is built around two omakase options. The Nigiri Omakase (USD 128) presents one daily appetizer, a sashimi starter, eleven pieces of nigiri, and a hand roll, organized in rounds that move through white fish, red fish, flavorful fish, creamy and exotic selections, and a final round of shellfish with unagi. The Signature Omakase (USD 198) expands the experience with seven to eight special signature dishes woven between the nigiri rounds. A sake pairing is available for each, with selections — from a sparkling starter to a dessert sake — chosen to complement each course.

General Manager Arte Kwok works alongside the chef to ensure the experience runs smoothly, from sake pairings to service. The team stresses punctuality: omakase starts on time, and late arrivals may miss courses. Because seats are limited and preparation is meticulous, advance reservation is required.
