Where it all began.

Bar Chinois in Washington, DC brings together a Michelin-recognized Chinese kitchen with a French-inspired cocktail program, a combination that earned the 2024 RAMMY for Best Bar in DC. Located at 455 I St. NW in the Mt. Vernon Triangle, the restaurant is a few blocks from Capital One Arena, the Convention Center, and Union Station.

Since opening in October 2021, this DC location has been recognized in the Michelin Dining Guide USA, the Washington Post Fall Dining Guide, and Modern Luxury DC's Best of the City. The space is industrial-chic, with patio dining and late-night service seven nights a week.

The menu leans into dim sum and Asian flavors, with dishes like Red Chili Wontons, Steamed Shumai, Chili Karaage, 1970's Garlic Noodles, and Crab Rangoon. The menu changes seasonally. The bar program is a constant presence, evolving but never stopping.

Bar Chinois offers weekend bottomless brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 4pm. The daily happy hour runs from 5pm to 7pm and is one of the most sought-after in DC: $1 dumplings and half-priced cocktails. The late-night kitchen operates every night. Gluten-free options are available, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.
