The story
Hum Garden is one of three distinct spaces by Hum in Ho Chi Minh City, each offering a cozy, elegant and calming atmosphere. Set in a lush garden in Thao Dien, the restaurant embodies the philosophy that "stillness comes from within." The name Hum is drawn from the ancient mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, a call to pause, breathe, and return to inner tranquility. Here, dining becomes a moment of reconnection with nature and Vietnamese culture.
The kitchen team works with carefully sourced local seasonal produce – fresh beans, nuts, vegetables, flowers, and fruits – to create dishes that are both nourishing and visually beautiful. Inspired by traditional Vietnamese cuisine, the food carries the subtle sweetness of vegetables, the nutty richness of legumes, and the delicate scent of herbs. No MSG is used; each ingredient is treated with respect to preserve its original essence. The result is a plant-based fine dining experience that is flavorful, aromatic, and fulfilling.
Hum Garden’s commitment to quality has earned it the Michelin Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years (2023, 2024, 2025), a testament to its good quality and good value cooking. It has also been ranked among the Top 20 Best of the Best Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurants Worldwide by TripAdvisor in 2021, 2023, and 2024, and holds a place in the Hall of Fame. These accolades reflect a dedication to plant-based cuisine that is both creative and accessible.
Every detail at Hum Garden is intentional – from the architecture and art to the garden setting. The restaurant also hosts events that celebrate local harvests and the beauty of the seasons, offering themed dinners that connect guests with nature. Whether for a quiet meal or a gathering, the space is designed to nurture the soul.
